What determines the choice

For end caps, establish whether the part fits inside or over the tube using the drawing or product details. Matching only the largest external dimension is insufficient for round and oval profiles; the seating area matters.

M8 and M10 describe metric threads, not tube diameters. Compare the mating thread and available engagement depth for threaded accessories. Similar appearance or an EKO designation does not establish interchangeability without checking dimensions.
