Desk cable outlets: choosing round or rectangular grommets
The cover shape and the room needed for plugs both matter. Review the existing opening, desktop thickness and cable route beneath the desk.
What determines the choice
Establish the outside sizes of the cables and plugs first. When choosing between round and rectangular models, do not use the visible cover size as the cut-out size; confirm the fitting opening for the selected reference.
Plan beyond the top of the desk. Drawers, cross-members and other fittings underneath may obstruct the route. Check the surrounding clearance so cables can pass without being pinched and the cover remains usable.
